SIR Helps a Child in Need

Meet Elise Bost. Elise recently had surgery for a condition called Stribismos, and Team SIR auctioned off a Redcat Racing Ground Pounder to help her family pay for the efforts going into the surgery. We wish Elise well on behalf of the entire SIR team, and thank Redcat Racing for their support in “the bigger things in life.” Thanks everyone!

“It was great to get an award at the banquet,” said Zimmer. “I’m very proud of our whole team and what we’ve done this year; our support has been great, and we hope this is just the beginning.”

Amsoil Shock Therapy will have a week to prepare for more shows, but we will have continual updates!

Cult Energy Activator and Ground Pounder Thrill Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada – Cult Energy Activator and Redcat Racing Ground Pounder enjoyed a tremendous weekend at the sport’s biggest event–Monster Jam’s World Finals 11. Things began with Redcat Racing Ground Pounder displaying for huge crowds from Thursday through Saturday, gaining many new Ground Pounder and RC fans throughout. Although driver Ben Winslow was just there to display the truck, he and Cult Energy Activator driver Sean Duhon displayed great teamwork and sportsmanship in helping competing teammate and Amsoil Shock Therapy driver Jon Zimmer, who needed an engine swap after qualifying for the show on Friday evening. Duhon and Winslow consumed many cans of Cult Energy Activator, but got the job done.

“We’re a team, and we wanted to help Jon out so Amsoil Shock Therapy made the best of the opportunity to run this weekend,” said Duhon. “I ended up getting to have a little fun out there also.”  The fun that Duhon spoke of was his opportunity to freestyle Cult Energy Activator as part of the famous encore portion that closes out the Finals. Duhon made several nice hits, including a launch over one of the tallest dirt ramps on the track that broke a champagne flange holding the right front wheel assembly together. Duhon recognized the damage immediately and turned Cult Energy Activator into a sweet set of donuts before parking and hearing the roar of the crowd.

All in all, Redcat Racing Ground Pounder and Cult Energy Activator thrilled fans on monster trucks’ biggest stage and made many new fans in the process. It was hard not to find someone with a Cult energy drink in their hand in the pits, and many new RC fans of Ground Pounder were seen as well. We will keep you posted on our post first quarter adventures!

Amsoil Shock Therapy Impressive at World Finals 11, Cult Energy Activator Rocks Encore

Amsoil Shock Therapy and Jon Zimmer made their first trip to the World Finals and proved they belong in the greatest field of trucks assembled every year. Zimmer and Amsoil Shock Therapy had qualified fourth overall with a time of 16.03 seconds, and that was good enough to be automatically seeded into the second round. Zimmer’s opponent for that matchup was Steve Sims’ Stone Crusher, and Zimmer piloted the Amsoil-powered machine to a great victory.

If you have to lose, some say it is best to lose to the guy that wins it, and that is what happened. Amsoil Shock Therapy gave eventual champion Dennis Anderson the closest race he had all night, but was just short of knocking off Grave Digger.

“I did everything I could, but I didn’t have lane choice, and he ended up pulling away from me out of the turn,” said Zimmer. “I’m just proud for Amsoil, team SIR, and my crew–without them, I never would have been here in the first place.”

Freestyle-wise, bad luck struck, as Zimmer whipped Amsoil Shock Therapy into a sweet set of donuts, but lost front steering. All that was left to do was try and gut it out and make something out of nothing, and Zimmer would blast off of a triple-stacked car set and roll the truck over.

“I felt bad that I didn’t get to do what I wanted in freestyle,” said Zimmer. “I had a bunch more planned, but luck wasn’t on my side. I want to come back and show everyone that I have even more in both racing and freestyle. I think we turned some heads here.”

Sean Duhon and Cult Energy Activator were invited to freestyle in the famous “encore” segment of the Finals, and Duhon made the most of his time on the track, making a nice save off of a double before launching off of a rock/fountain pile in the center of the track, breaking the champagne flange that holds the wheel assembly together. Duhon quickly spun Cult into a nice set of donuts before calling it good to the roar of approval from the crowd.

“I did everything I could with what I had, and I was pleased to do well for Cult and team SIR,” said Duhon. “Those are some big obstacles, but we came out and did our thing!”

Amsoil Shock Therapy and Jon Zimmer along with Cult Energy Activator and Sean Duhon did indeed turn heads at the sport’s biggest event, and are headed to Monster Jam’s Awards banquet as of this writing. Will Team SIR pick up some hardware? We’ll find out soon! Check out MonsterJam.com for more information!

Amsoil Shock Therapy qualifies fourth fastest

Jon Zimmer drove the Amsoil Shock Therapy to a time of 16.03, good for fourth-fastest qualifier. The Vegas rookie is no stranger to pressure, but the new experience doesn’t seem to bother him.

“I’m pretty calm right now; I feel good about the truck, and we’ve had a lot of support working hard on it, keeping everything right,” said Zimmer. “Amsoil is behind us, and so is all of team SIR, so now it’s up to me to get it done during the show.”

We will keep you updated throughout the rest of the weekend, including tonight’s big show at the Monster Jam World Finals 11! Will Zimmer take Amsoil Shock Therapy to a world championship? Find out tonight! MonsterJam.com will have up-to-the-minute news and updates throughout the show.
