A Tale of Two Cities, SIR-Style

Billings, Montana-Sudden Impact Racing’s Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excalibertook to Montana for two days of nonstop thrills and excitement, coming away with more victories along the way.

The action began on Friday, where Amsoil Excaliber pushed hard all night in both racing and freestyle, setting the stage for Amsoil Shock Therapy’s runner-up finishes in both events.

I wasn’t satisfied with just second place,” said Amsoil Shock Therapy’s Jon Zimmer. “I want to win every time out for Amsoil and Sudden Impact Racing!”

Saturday saw just the result Zimmer had in mind, with a clean sweep of the wheelie, racing and freestyle events, and more importantly, minimal damage to the trucks.

We’re ready to go tomorrow for the Soaring Eagle Casino!” said Amsoil Excaliber’s Kevin Koszala.

Indeed, next up is Mt. Pleasant, Michigan’s event, and both Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber will be on the loose. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

Primm, Nevada-Sudden Impact Racing’s Redcat Racing Ground Pounder and Michigan Ice Monster had quite the adventure before the Primm show even began. On the way to the event, the trailer experienced not one, but two blowouts, as well as brake fire. Adding to the misfortune after traveling 1000 miles in a day, some damage occurred, with Redcat Racing Ground Pounder breaking a locker and Michigan Ice Monster suffering steering issues and a light rollover.

Sometimes we have a tough road, but we made it through,” said Redcat Racing Ground Pounder’s Chris Ryan. “You just have to fight through and know that we have the support of our friends, sponsors, and fans to keep us going.”

A new opportunity arises for the team to rebound right away, with Escanaba, Michigan as the host. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

Rocky Mountain Sweep for SIR

Colorado National Speedway-Sudden Impact Racing’s Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber were joined by teammates Redcat Racing Ground Pounder and Michigan Ice Monster this weekend for a rare appearance of all four Sudden Impact Racing trucks at the same show. The results? A clean sweep of the weekend’s events, with strong performances from all four trucks, another fantastic showing for team Sudden Impact Racing.

Redcat Racing Ground Pounder is becoming well-known throughout the monster truck world for its strong freestyle efforts and never-say-die attitude of its drivers, and Chris “Panda” Ryan did his thing throughout the weekend, pushing the limits and teammate Jon Zimmer with Amsoil Shock Therapy. These two trucks, along with Amsoil Excaliber, were the class of the field and atop the leaderboards in all competitions, including Amsoil Shock Therapy’s victories in wheelie, long jump, and freestyle events.

It felt great to get all four Sudden Impact Racing trucks in one facility for a weekend,” said Zimmer. “We have some good team chemistry and understanding of our trucks right now, and it’s helping us succeed for all of our sponsors.”

Next up is more opportunity for success, with Billings, Montana scheduled this weekend. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

SIR Storms Speedway 95

Bangor, Maine-(photos courtesy Rosey Burroughsford) Sudden Impact Racing’s Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber made their way to Maine for a long weekend of Monster Jam shows in front of some rabid fans, fighting adversity to finish strong on the weekend. Amsoil Excaliber battled starter issues, but nonetheless was able to come away with some impressive performances with home-state boy Chris Ryan behind the wheel.

It was nice to get out there near home and go big,” said Ryan. “I’ve been excited about this for the whole summer, and even with the problems we had, we fought through and put on a great show for the fans.”

That show was highlighted not only by Amsoil Excaliber, but Amsoil Shock Therapy as well. The 2011 World Finals Qualifier went for huge air all weekend, and did his trademark “walking donuts” down the front stretch of Speedway 95 to the delight of the crowd.

It’s always fun at a speedway to do that,” said Amsoil Shock Therapy’s Jon Zimmer. “With the Sudden Impact Racing tires we have, I can use the gas, brake, and steering to set the truck into some donuts that travel from one area to another. It was a great weekend!”

Next up for the team is some exciting action in Halifax, Nova Scotia for another Monster Jam event as the summer tour rolls on. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

Amsoil Shock Therapy visits Red Bud

Amsoil Shock Therapy was on display at Red Bud MX in Buchanon, Michigan at the TORC opener to greet all the great fans of Amsoil and the Shock Therapy Monster truck, as well as cheering on Amsoil team members like Chad Hord and Scott Douglas:

“It’s always great to see other forms of racing, and team Amsoil has it going on with the TORC series,” said driver Jon Zimmer. “These things are nasty!”

Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber are on their way to Bangor, Maine for an intense weekend of Monster Jam competition June 3-5. We’ll keep you posted!

Slick Sandusky Success for SIR

Sandusky, Ohio-Sudden Impact Racing’s Redcat Racing Ground Pounder and Michigan Ice Monster continued the success of the swamp-like conditions recently, making a total team effort and success the name of the game in Sandusky.

The night began with clear skies and the promise of a great event, then quickly dissipated until rain brought an abrupt end to the event. Sudden Impact Racing was able to steal the show before the end, however, with Michigan Ice Monster taking a wheelie contest victory and Redcat Racing Ground Pounder the big freestyle victory.

It’s not always easy in muddy conditions, but we made the most of it because we don’t want to let the fans or Redcat Racing down,” said Ice Monster driver Chris Lagana. “We got to freestyle with both Sudden Impact trucks right before we got rained out, so we gave them their money’s worth and got some more seat time too!”

Overall it was another success for team Sudden Impact, proving once again that no matter what the conditions, perseverence pays. The team heads next to Colorado National Speedway. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

Michigan Monster Mayhem for SIR

Port Huron, Michigan-Sudden Impact Racing’s Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber took their talents to Michigan for a bit of home-state action, and once again drove away the talk of the show. Amsoil Excaliber continues to improve with Kevin Koszala behind the wheel, and Amsoil Shock Therapy took four wins in two days of competition to make it a clean sweep of the wheelie and freestyle competitions in port Huron.

We had another great weekend for Amsoil and Sudden Impact Racing,” said Zimmer. “Any time I can get those freestyle wins, I’m a happy guy. It’s a true test of our equipment and skill behind the wheel to shut everyone out and make sure they remember our name.”

After wrapping things up in Port Huron with the cheers of the crowd still ringing in their ears, Sudden Impact Racing and the Amsoil Shock Therapy will once again be busy this weekend, but in a different light than normal—on display at a TORC series race in Buchanan, Michigan to show off the truck to the off road enthusiasts gathered at Red Bud MX. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

SIR Doubles Up in Rochester and Quebec!

Quebec and Rochester, Minnesota-Sudden Impact Racing’s Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber doubled up this weekend, taking two Shock Therapy and two Excaliber trucks, one pairto Quebec, the other pair to Rochester for twice the wins and exposure for Amsoil and the team. (photos courtesy Stephanie Cotnoir and Josh Kirscher)

North of the border in Quebec, it was Amsoil Shock Therapy starting off strong with an incredible vertical wheel stand on fresh cars that won over the crowd from the beginning of the show, then an all-out freestyle assault from both Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber to close things out.

Drivers Chris Lagana and Chris Ryan soared over the van stack on the track, kept great momentum, and when their runs finished, there was no doubt as to what Sudden Impact Racing was all about—running hard and winning fans over worldwide!

We had a great time in Quebec and it was great to spread the word about the team and our driving to a new audience,” said Amsoil Excaliber’s Chris Ryan. “We want this summer to go well, and we’re gonna do everything we can to make sure Sudden Impact Racing gets plenty of wins!”

In Rochester, it was a muddy mess, and sometimes, special situations arise that require drivers to step up above and beyond the normally expected. This weekend in Minnesota was one of those times for Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber. When two other competing trucks were out for the weekend with blown engines, it was up to Sudden Impact Racing to make sure the fans who stuck through the inclimate weather got the price of admission. Amsoil Shock Therapy and Amsoil Excaliber did that and much more, giving great races and capping the show with spectacular freestyles to make the most of a potentially bad situation.

We were left out there as the only part of the show left due to breakage from the other trucks, so we did what we had to do to make an impression on the fans in Rochester,” said Amsoil Shock Therapy’s Jon Zimmer. “It’s always tough to maneuver trucks in rain, but we made it through and saw the fans standing at the end. That always makes it worth it.”

Sudden Impact Racing will have another chance to continue their win streak in Port Huron, Michigan May 21 and Sandusky, Ohio on May 29. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!

SIR SHINES IN FLORIDA

West Palm Beach, FL-Sudden Impact Racing’s Redcat Racing Ground Pounder and Michigan Ice Monster enjoyed the Sunshine state to the fullest, earning more fans and picking up great victories for the team.

Ice Monster kicked off the action with two wins in two wheelie contests, and driver Chris Lagana was comfortable all weekend, continuing his progression behind the wheel.

It felt great to pick up some wins and open the door for my teammate to get some wins also,” said Lagana.

The teammate he speaks of is Redcat Racing Ground Pounder’s Chris “Panda” Ryan. The Redcat Racing Ground Pounder was all over the track, with big air and high-speed donuts being the name of the game this weekend. When Ryan exited the truck and waved to the fans, they were on their feet voicing their approval of Sudden Impact Racing’s Redcat Racing Ground Pounder, a resounding freestyle victory that made it two in a row and a Florida sweep for the team, continuing the momentum built up in the previous event in Elko.

I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again!” said an excited Ryan. “Redcat Racing Ground Pounder is ready to go and so am I. I want to do a lot for the team and the fans this summer!”

Sudden Impact Racing will have another chance to continue their win streak in Sandusky, Ohio on May 29. We will keep you posted on all the action from there!
